As a long-term County Cup supporter, Westerby is delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Leicestershire referees in this season’s Leicestershire & Rutland County Cup tournament.
This new sponsorship was announced at the Leicester & Rutland FA Referee Summit 2024, an evening dedicated to hardworking match officials across the two counties. It adds to Westerby’s existing sponsorship of the ladies’ and men’s over-18s tournament finals.
Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Cups are a programme of knockout competitions that play a vital role in enabling keen amateur footballers of all ages and abilities from Leicestershire and Rutland to play competitively. This latest development in Westerby’s long partnership with the Leicestershire & Rutland CFA, which has spanned over a decade, strengthens Westerby’s role in supporting grassroots football across the region.
Stephen Harvey, Managing Director of Westerby Group, announced Westerby’s referee sponsorship at the event held at Grace Road Cricket Ground in Leicester . He comments, “Support from local businesses is vital in making these much-loved fixtures in our local footballing calendar happen. So, we’re proud to further strengthen our commitment to supporting local sport and encouraging talent to flourish from the grass roots up by announcing our sponsorship of the referees in the 2024/2025 season.”
Attendees at the evening were entertained by Premier League referee Samuel Barrott who shared his insights and experiences with guests and presented a signed shirt to Stephen Harvey as a token of the Leicestershire & Rutland FA’s appreciation.
